        Frequently Asked Questions

A&F Pawn Jewelry and Gold

This page is dedicated to answering your questions about how a Pawn works, or what we buy like  Gold or Silver coins, Bars and Bullion.

These are Our Pawn & Gold Questions Answered

1. How do pawn loans work in Bradenton and Sarasota?

Bring your item into our Bradenton location. We evaluate it based on condition, market demand, and resale value. If you accept the offer, you receive same-day cash. There is no credit check and pawn loans do not impact your credit score. Florida law provides a minimum 60-day loan term, with extension options available when payments are kept current.

2. What are your pawn loan interest rates?

Pawn loan terms follow Florida state regulations. All fees and interest are clearly explained before you sign. There are no hidden charges.

3.Do pawn loans affect my credit score?

No. Pawn loans are not reported to credit bureaus and do not impact your credit score.

4. What items can I pawn?

We accept gold jewelry, diamonds, luxury watches, coins, bullion, musical instruments, electronics, tools, and other items with resale value.

5. How do you test gold?

We use standard industry methods including acid scratch testing, magnet testing, and electronic gold testing devices to determine purity and authenticity.

6. Is my gold tested in front of me?

Yes. We test gold directly at the counter in front of you and explain the process so you understand how purity and value are determined.

7. Do you buy silver coins and bullion?

Yes. We purchase silver coins, bullion, bars, sterling flatware, and sterling silver jewelry.

8. Are pawn shops regulated in Florida?

Yes. Pawn shops are regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and must follow state lending laws.

9. How quickly can I receive funds from a pawn loan?

Most pawn loans are funded the same day once the evaluation is complete and terms are agreed upon.

10. How do loan extensions work?

Extension payments allow you to extend the loan beyond the original term. As long as extension payments are made according to the agreement, you may continue renewing the loan.

11. Can I have multiple pawn loans at the same time?

Yes. You may have multiple pawn loans as long as each loan meets underwriting and identification requirements.

12. What happens if I lose my pawn ticket?

If your pawn ticket is lost, you must present a valid government-issued ID that matches the original loan information. A small reprint fee may apply.

13. Do you offer layaway?

Yes. Our layaway program requires 10% down and offers 90 days same as cash. Extended terms may be available depending on the item.

14. What items do you sell?

We sell gold and silver jewelry, diamonds, coins, bullion, tools, electronics, collectibles, and other quality pre-owned items.

15. Are there items you do not buy?

Yes. We do not purchase car rims, broken items, or phones and tablets that are locked to a previous owner’s account. If you’re unsure about an item, call us and we’ll be happy to help.
